Kaavalan has been in the sheds for more that a month now and finally it released this Sunday amidts lots of pressure from various groups. The movie has really come out from no-where and entered the stiff competition. The movie had no advertisements nor any posters or banners to boost its chances of success. But with Vijay's Charisma and his huge fan following, the movie received a decent opening all over the state.
The movie is the remake of 'Bodyguard' also directed by Siddique. The movie is a full and full romantic entertainer in the genre of 'Kadhaluku Mariyadhai'. Vijay has played a lovable bodyguard who craves to save the life of his mentor Rajkiran. But Rajkiran's daughter falls in love with him after the initial pranks. The climax is unusal for a Vijay film and hence receives mixed response from the audience. Vijay and Vadivel's comedy really needs a mentioning. Asin also has a very good role to play rather than the comercial leads.
