Diwali is the best time for the producers to rake in the profits making full use of the festive season. This has been the tradition in the Indian film industry to release the movie and get full benefit of the festive season. For the past few years Kollywood has been finding this formula a huge hit. Take for the instance ‘Chandramuki’ which released during this festive season and hit the Jackpot. Last year the competition was a little weak with only Dhanush’s Uthamaputiran being the big budget movie. But it was ‘Myna’ that hit the right chords to become the hit of the year. The other movies that were released where ‘Va Quarter cutting’ and ‘SingamPuli’.
But this time it’s a different ball game with three most expected movies gearing for the battle. Its Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ versus Suriya’s ‘7am Arivu’ versus Dhanush’s ‘Mayakam Yenna’.
Velayutham is full family entertainer with Vijay,Genelia ,Hanshika,Saranya and Santhanam in the lead directed by M.Raja. While A.R.Murugados pairs with Suriya after Ghajini for this epical movie with Sruthi Hasan in the female lead. Dhanush and his brother Selva are not far behind with ‘Mayakam Yenaa’. Apart from this we also have Ra.One both in Tamil and Hindi with the Superstar playing a cameo in the movie. Osthi initiall slated for the festive release has been pushed back since STR is not fully ready to shoot his Shirtless climax.
All ther four movies have been promoted quite aggressively and their songs are already slugging it out in the stores. Probably a must watch this festive season.
